History of Niinisaari Championship

The origins of Niinisaari Championship can be traced back to the glory days of anchiend Roman Republic. A loyal servant of Julius Caesar wanted to make his master proud by organising an event for the summer festivities. That servants name was Matticus Hakosaaricus and he had a vision of a huge round stone structure that could house most of the main citys residents.

In that structure there would be held a variety of games never seen before. Hakosaaricus hosted a one time grand event for Caesar in which many of the greatest warriors of the Roman Legions would fight against each other in various different tournaments. Matticus and his brother AH-Saaricus decided to join the tournament in order to encourage more particapants. It is estimated that at least 200 Legionary brother combos fought in that tournament.

The last remaining brothers were Mikkogratus and Juusodeus of the house Niinimaegatus, and Hakosaaricus brothers. To this day it is still unknown which brothers emerged victorious and sadly the games were never held again due to the unfortunate demise of Julius Caesar before he could authorise the continuation of the hugely succesful tournaments.

Since then the traditional tournament has been fortunately rebirthed by the decendants of Hakosaaricus and Niinimaegatus familys. The new wave of these festivities began in 2019 and is continuing today! In honor of the original tournament it is aptly named the NiiniSaari Championships.
